Hossam Hassan Reveals Egypts True Ambition In The 2025 African Cup

Hossam Hassan said in a press conference today, Friday, on the eve of facing Côte d’Ivoire in the quarter-finals of the tournament: “We respect all the teams, especially the Côte d’Ivoire team, which includes great players, and we also have distinguished players who play in the biggest teams.”

He added, “My goal is always to make the fans happy and raise Egypt’s name high, especially in a major tournament like the African Nations, but I would like to express my happiness at being in Morocco, where we find support from this great people in the city of Agadir.”

He explained: “I was supporting the Moroccan national team in the 2022 World Cup, and this is normal because we are brothers and there is love and support from the Moroccan fans for us, which we appreciate very much.”
Hossam Hassan confirmed: “Having Ibrahim Hassan (his twin brother) as manager of the Egyptian national team makes many things easier for me within the national team, as he is a star and a great legend in African football. Ibrahim Hassan participated with the world national team three times and is one of the best to play in the right-back position.”

He pointed out: “I respect all the coaches in the African Nations Championship of different nationalities, but I prefer the national coach to take charge of his country’s national team. I personally support Walid Regragui’s experience with Morocco. He is achieving outstanding results.”

The Egyptian national team is seeking to win the African Nations title for the first time since the 2010 edition in Angola, and the eighth in its history, in order to strengthen its record as the team that has won the most titles.

It is noteworthy that the winner of the match between Egypt and Côte d’Ivoire scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, will meet next Wednesday in the semi-finals with the Senegal national team, which qualified after defeating Mali with a goal without a response earlier today.
