Kim Kardashian wore a striking outfit to the Academy Museum Gala!

The SKIMS founder, 44, arrived at the fifth annual gala on Saturday, Oct. 18, wearing a nude-colored mask that covered her entire face and hair in a shocking style transformation.

She modeled the face mask with a matching strapless corseted gown with draped sleeves from the Maison Margiela Fall 2025 Couture collection, paired with coordinating long nude nails.

Kardashian’s face mask was accessorized with a layered crystal-embellished choker necklace with green jewels and cross pendants, which were also part of the Maison Margiela couture look.

She posted a selection of photos on her Instagram Stories of her posing in the head-turning outfit, along with a snapshot of when it was modelled on the Maison Margiela runway as a style reference for fans.

The mogul then posted a clip of herself poking fun at her look while getting final touch-ups of her face mask from her glam team at the Academy Museum gala.

“Mario, do I look OK? The make-up?” Kardashian asked her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanoic, in the video. “Your make-up looks amazing, yes,” he jokingly replied.

“It’s good? All that hard work guys,” Kardashian continued jokily. “I feel like I always do this to Mario, though,” she added.

Style enthusiasts were divided over Kardashian’s face mask and matching gown as they shared their opinions on social media.

“I liked that she committed to the full look,” one person wrote on Instagram. “See this is actually interesting,” someone else agreed. “This is, of course, next level fabulous 💛💛💛,” another wrote.

“Kim… I mean, she’s committed to the full look … I’ll give her that, but it wasn’t the best choice for her,” someone else said. “It looks like a brown paper bag over her head,” another commented.

Kardashian’s outfit for the Academy Museum Gala was reminiscent of the head-to-toe covered outfit she wore at the 2021 Met Gala. At the event, she wore a black mask that concealed both her face and head as part of a Balenciaga outfit.

The SKIMS founder has never been afraid to take a step out of her comfort zone when it comes to fashion. In August, she opted for another statement look from the Maison Margiela Fall 2025 Couture collection as she attended Diane von Furstenberg’s DVF Awards in Italy.

She teamed a gray jumpsuit with floor-grazing cape sleeves and a form-fitting bodysuit worn over sweeping wide-leg pants.
