Is This The End Of His Reign With Liverpool?.. Salah Publishes Touching Scenes From “Anfield” (video)

The Egyptian star participated in the match against Brighton as a substitute in the 25th minute following Joe Gomez’s injury, and he created the team’s second goal via a corner kick that French striker Hugo Equitiki converted into the net.

With this decisive pass, Salah raised his tally to 277 goalscoring contributions (goals + assists) with Liverpool in the English Premier League, becoming the most player in the history of the competition to record this number of contributions with one club, surpassing Wayne Rooney’s previous record with Manchester United.

The Brighton match gained double importance, as it was Salah’s last appearance with Liverpool this year, before he left to join the Egyptian national team in preparation for the African Cup of Nations, scheduled in Morocco during the period from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

But important than it being Salah’s last match with Liverpool in 2025, is the mounting speculation surrounding it about the possibility of this match being his last appearance at Anfield.

Salah himself hinted, in previous statements, that facing Brighton might be his absolute “farewell” to Anfield, especially in light of the recent crisis with management and coach Arnie Slot, and his repeated absence from the starting lineup, as he sat on the bench for the fourth time in a row.

After the Brighton match, Salah posted a video clip on his account on the “X” platform documenting the moments of greetings and crowd chants for him at Anfield, in a move that many interpreted as a “symbolic farewell,” even if he did not explicitly state his departure.

The clip shows Liverpool fans chanting Salah’s name and chanting the famous song dedicated to him, “Mo Salah… Mo Salah… the Egyptian King,” while the Egyptian star appeared fighting back tears and giving a long salute to the stands.

This atmosphere comes at a time when there are increasing reports of strong interest from Saudi Professional League clubs in including Salah, especially with the opening of the winter transfer window next January.
